The foundation of every custody case is what you recorded — and when. These tools make documentation fast, consistent, and court-ready from day one.
The core feature. Log any custody-related event in under 60 seconds: text messages, phone calls, in-person exchanges, missed pickups, late drop-offs, overheard statements — anything relevant to your case.
Each entry captures: date and time (automatic), incident type, verbatim quote (what was actually said or written), your interpretation (separate field), risk level (1–5 scale), and optional notes.
Example: "Received." — logged within 90 seconds of exchange confirmation. Over 90 days, this becomes a pattern of compliance that speaks for itself.
Courts and attorneys distinguish between what was said and what you think it means. GreyRock enforces this separation by giving you two distinct fields for every entry.
The verbatim field captures exact words. The interpretation field captures context and meaning. When the PDF is generated, these appear in separate, clearly labeled sections — exactly how legal documentation is expected to read.
This structure also protects you: your emotional response to an incident does not contaminate the factual record.
Attach screenshots directly to any log entry. A text message screenshot attached to its corresponding log entry creates a stronger record than either alone.
All attachments are stored locally on your device and included in cloud backup (Pro). They are referenced in the PDF report with a page number for easy retrieval.

Your streak counts consecutive days of documented composure — days on which you logged interactions, used Hold Fire when needed, and did not send reactive messages.
In a modification hearing or GAL evaluation, a 90-day Grey Rock streak is a documented behavioral pattern. It is not anecdotal. It is a log with timestamps.
The streak is shown prominently on the home screen and included in all PDF reports. When the evaluator sees your streak alongside the incident log, the narrative writes itself.
Enter your court-ordered parenting schedule once. GreyRock tracks every scheduled exchange and compares it against your logged actual exchanges.
Missed pickups, late drop-offs, and unauthorized schedule changes are automatically flagged. The compliance summary is included in every PDF report and is one of the most impactful sections for attorneys and judges reviewing the document.
Set personal accountability goals — logging frequency, Hold Fire usage, response-time targets — and track progress week over week. Goals are private and not included in the PDF report unless you choose to add them.

The analysis section of the PDF is the section attorneys tell us they read first. It translates your raw log into a narrative any judge can understand in two minutes.
Before a hearing, open Hearing Prep. GreyRock surfaces the most significant incidents in your log — highest risk scores, most recent escalation cluster, most impactful individual entries — and helps you prepare a summary with your attorney.
You can also generate a hearing-specific PDF with only the incidents you choose to present, keeping the document focused and relevant.
Your documentation is sensitive. These features protect it from anyone who should not see it.
Lock GreyRock behind a PIN or Face ID/Touch ID. Every time the app opens, authentication is required. There is no bypass.
If the wrong PIN is entered five times, the app locks for 30 minutes. This is not optional — the lockout is designed to prevent brute-force access on an unattended phone.
Rename GreyRock to anything you choose — "Calculator", "Notes", "Utilities" — so the app icon on your home screen is not identifiable. The name change appears on your home screen and in the app switcher.
This is not about hiding wrongdoing. It is about privacy. Your documentation is private. Your legal strategy is private. You are allowed to keep it that way.
Your data is backed up automatically with end-to-end encryption. Only you can decrypt it — not GreyRock, not the cloud provider. If you lose your phone, restore everything to a new device by signing in to your account.
Backup frequency is configurable. You can also trigger a manual backup at any time, which is recommended before court dates.
